Program 06
Inclusive Recreation and Community Participation
Participation should not depend on age, background or ability. This proposed program asks a simple question for every activity: who might be left out, and what could we reasonably change so they are not?

This program is not yet running. Activities listed are possibilities, not scheduled events.
Purpose
Encourage opportunities for participation across different interests, ages and abilities.
Intended audience
- People who have found it difficult to join activities elsewhere
- Older residents
- People with disabilities and their families or carers
Potential activities
- Accessible recreational sessions
- Inclusive community activities
- Information about participation options
- Adapted activities where appropriate
- Community feedback initiatives
Intended benefits
- More people able to take part in local life
- Reduced isolation
- A community culture that values every contribution
Accessibility
We will be honest about what we can and cannot offer. Specialised accessibility services will only be promised once they have been arranged.
Implementation approach
Feedback from participants will directly shape how activities are adapted over time.
Evaluation
Once activities begin, we intend to gather simple, voluntary feedback from participants, reflect on what worked and what did not, and adjust future plans accordingly. We will not publish outcome figures unless they come from genuine records.
