Governance
Governance & accountability
How decisions are made, recorded and reviewed.
Legal framework
As an association (biedrība) registered in Latvia, the organisation operates within the framework of Latvian law on associations and foundations and according to its own statutes. The statutes define its purpose, its governing bodies and how decisions are made.
Governing bodies
In Latvian associations the members' meeting is usually the highest decision-making body, and a board (valde) manages day-to-day affairs and represents the association. The precise arrangements for this association are set out in its statutes.
Our commitments
- Decisions taken within the authority set by the statutes.
- Accurate records of meetings and key decisions.
- Responsible management of any funds received.
- Declaration and management of conflicts of interest.
- Respectful handling of personal data.
- A clear route for feedback and complaints.
Conflicts of interest
Anyone acting on behalf of the association is expected to declare personal interests that could affect a decision, and to step back from that decision where appropriate.
Documents
Governance documents such as statutes or reports will be made available on this website once they are approved for publication. In the meantime, enquiries can be sent to us directly.
