Privacy policy

01

Introduction

This policy explains what personal data we process when you use this website or contact us, why we process it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Latvia's Personal Data Processing Law.

02

Who we are

The controller of your personal data is Kultūras Un Sporta Veicināšanas Biedrība, registration number 40008093831, Talsu iela 20, Dundaga, Dundagas pagasts, Talsu novads, LV-3270, Latvia. Email: contact@apsalumni.org. Telephone: +37120930889. The association has not appointed a Data Protection Officer.

03

Information we collect

This website does not have user accounts and does not use analytics or advertising tools. We only receive personal data that you choose to send us — for example by email or telephone — together with basic technical data processed by our hosting provider.

04

Contact form

The contact form on this website does not store your message on our servers. When you submit it, it opens your own email program with your message prepared, and the message is sent only when you choose to send it from your email account. We then receive your name, email address and whatever you write.

05

Technical logs

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may automatically process technical information such as IP address, browser type and the time of a request, for security and to keep the site running. These logs are not used to identify visitors.

06

Purposes and legal bases

  • Responding to your enquiry — our legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact us (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), or steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Keeping the website secure — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Meeting legal obligations, such as recordkeeping — Art. 6(1)(c).
07

Data minimisation and retention

We ask only for the information we need. Correspondence is kept for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and then deleted, unless a longer period is required by law.

08

Security and access

Access to correspondence is limited to people acting on behalf of the association who need it. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data.

09

Service providers and transfers

This website is hosted on cloud infrastructure provided by third-party service providers, which act as processors. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where this happens, appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses are relied upon.

10

Your rights

  • Access to your personal data.
  • Rectification of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure, where applicable.
  • Restriction of processing.
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Data portability, where applicable.
  • Lodging a complaint with the Data State Inspectorate of Latvia (Datu valsts inspekcija, www.dvi.gov.lv).
11

Cookies

This website does not use non-essential cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

12

Links, children and sensitive data

External websites linked from this site have their own privacy practices. This website is not directed at children, and we ask that you do not send us sensitive personal data (such as health information) through general enquiries.

13

We may update this policy when our practices change; the effective date above will be updated. Questions about privacy can be sent to contact@apsalumni.org.
