Our mission
Culture, sport & participation
Our mission is to promote cultural appreciation, sporting participation and meaningful community engagement through activities that encourage learning, creativity, cooperation and personal development.

Mission statement
We seek to recognise the value of cultural expression and physical activity as ways to bring people together, support the sharing of knowledge, and create opportunities for people with different interests and backgrounds to participate.
Through responsible program development, educational opportunities, recreational initiatives and appropriate collaboration, we aim to contribute to a community that values inclusion, respect, participation and shared experiences.
Our mission in practice
These are proposed mission-related objectives, to be aligned with the official statutes before being published as formal commitments.
- Encourage appreciation of cultural expression and traditions.
- Promote interest in sports and recreational activities.
- Support opportunities for learning and personal development.
- Encourage cooperation and positive community relationships.
- Explore inclusive activities for people with different interests and abilities.
- Promote constructive community participation.
- Encourage responsible partnerships when appropriate.
- Communicate organisational activities and objectives transparently.
Cultural development
We want more people to experience culture as participants: singing, making, learning and sharing traditions. Cultural development, for us, means creating the conditions in which that can happen.
Sporting participation
Our interest in sport is recreational and community-based. We value movement, teamwork and fair play, and we want sport to be enjoyable for people of different abilities.
Community engagement
Culture and sport are means as well as ends. Both can help neighbours meet, generations connect and newcomers feel welcome.
Inclusion and accessibility
We aim to consider barriers to participation from the beginning — cost, access, timing, language and confidence — and to be honest about what we can and cannot yet offer.
Education and personal development
Learning happens naturally when people take part. We are interested in workshops, conversations and resources that help people discover new interests and skills.
Responsible collaboration
Where it serves our purpose, we are open to working with other organisations. Any partnership will be described only after it has been formally agreed.
From mission to activity
Our formal objectives describe what the association exists to do. Our program ideas describe how we might do it. We keep the two separate: programs on this website are labelled Proposed, In Development or Active, so you always know their real status.
